Impact and Learnings Report

As a founding expert and leading partner in BlackRock’s Emergency Savings Initiative (ESI) since 2019, Commonwealth has developed deep partnerships with leading companies and focused on piloting real-world solutions. In addition to working with ESI partners, we conducted research and advanced public policies related to emergency savings. Our goal is to improve financial security and emergency savings for people living on low and moderate incomes (LMI) in the United States. 

BlackRock’s Emergency Savings Initiative’s new Impact and Learnings Report (2019-2022) brings together the first four years of the work and contains partner case studies and research to help employers and workplace benefits providers collaborate to broaden access to emergency savings. Download the report to:

  • Learn proven tactics in program design that helped ESI achieve more than $2 billion in new liquid savings and reach 10 million people
  • Read case studies with large employers such as Best Buy, UPS, and others with details on creating savings solutions for employees who are both in- and out-of-plan
