Emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) hold the potential to transform our financial services system in ways that could open up significant new opportunities for the financial wellbeing of our communities. At the same time examples such as gender biased recruiting tools and facial recognition software that misidentifies black people ten times as frequently as whites, remind us that AI-powered solutions can unwittingly automate historical discrimination. When it comes to financial services for the underserved, where does AI fit?

This session will feature:

1) an overview of emerging technologies and AI; 2) a discussion with a nonprofit considering leveraging AI in delivering high-quality, low-cost financial guidance and services to lower income families; and 3) an interactive session where all participants will explore the use cases and risks of using AI to building financial security.
