McKenzie Pickett

Senior Innovation Manager

McKenzie Pickett is a Senior Innovation Manager at Commonwealth, where she works to create pathways to financial wellness for marginalized Americans. Throughout her career, McKenzie has been driven by a simple belief: the best solutions put people at the center. Before joining Commonwealth, she brought that philosophy to a congressional campaign as Digital Mobilization Director, getting creative with how to reach voters and build systems that met people where they were and empowered volunteers to do the same. McKenzie previously worked to support behavioral and mental health programs within the New York State Medicaid program, bringing together unlikely collaborators—competing healthcare organizations, engineers, and community partners—to build shared infrastructure that served patients better. She has also worked within the immigration system, designing protocols that centered dignity and cultural sensitivity for hundreds of asylum-seeking families navigating an impossible system to find housing. Whether she’s managing a $5 million grant portfolio or coordinating cross-functional teams, McKenzie is always asking: how do we make this work for the people it’s meant to serve? She holds a Master of Public Health from New York University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
