Green Dot Bank has been recognized with an Economic Inclusion Award at the American Bankers Association (ABA) Community Commitment Awards for their work on Prize Savings, a prize-linked savings feature co-designed by Commonwealth on the Walmart prepaid MoneyCard.
This recognition by ABA highlights the role that banks can play in addressing the savings crisis by providing tools and incentives to save for financially vulnerable people.
The selection committee, made up of national experts in each category – affordable housing, community and economic development, economic inclusion, financial education, protecting older Americans, and volunteerism – chose winners based on the creativity and thoughtfulness of the bank program. Each program must embody the ideals of corporate social responsibility and demonstrate success in measurable terms.
“This year’s honorees demonstrate the impressive and impactful work of America’s banks,” said Corey Carlisle, executive director of the ABA Foundation. “Their programs highlight an on-going commitment to building thriving, sustainable communities and enhancing the quality of life for the customers they serve.”
